Donald A. Jones · Founder
Long before Don Jones ever held a wrench, aviation was already in his blood. Growing up in California, his father would take the family to the end of the runway at San Jose International Airport, listening to tower communications as the heavies rumbled past. Air shows featuring the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were a staple. Even then, the smell of jet exhaust felt like home.
Shortly after high school, Don enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he specialized in Aircraft Structural Maintenance, learning protective coatings, sheet metal repair, and fiberglass composites. It was a strong start, but the A&P certificate that would define his career came later than expected.
"I may be far advanced in my career, but I am far from done."
After separating from active duty, Don spent nearly a decade in industrial fabrication and commercial fire protection, sharpening his technical problem-solving skills and gaining his first exposure to federal regulations through DOT cylinder recertification. The drive to return to aviation never left him.
In 2000, Don moved his family to East Texas and enrolled in aviation maintenance training, earning both his Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science from LeTourneau University. He even earned his private pilot certificate along the way, discovering that while he wasn't born to fly, he was absolutely born to fix what flies.
In 2007, Don joined Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia. What followed was a 16-year career that took him from Senior Aircraft Technician to Mechanical Team Lead, working across Service Centers in Savannah, Dallas, and North Fort Worth. During this time, mentored by Gulfstream legend Joe Haigh, Don developed an approach to troubleshooting that treated aircraft as living systems, listening, observing, and letting the aircraft reveal its own anomalies.
Simultaneously, Don served as a traditional Guardsman with the Georgia and Texas Air National Guard from 2009 to 2025, completing five deployments to Europe and Southwest Asia, totaling fifteen months overseas. He retired from the Guard proudly, with the discipline and perspective that only military service can forge.
In 2024, Don founded Dallas Corporate Aerospace Services, LLC, bringing elite-level Gulfstream expertise directly to aircraft managers, charter companies, MROs, and brokers. He also earned his FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certification, adding professional aerial documentation to his growing list of capabilities. He is currently pursuing aircraft appraiser credentials.
Every credential Don holds was earned through real-world experience and rigorous testing, not just classroom hours.

Don's business model isn't just a services list. It's an identity. "Supporting the success of others" is woven into everything he does, from the way he approaches a complex troubleshooting challenge to how he shows up for the aviation community.
Mentored himself by Gulfstream veteran Joe Haigh, who taught him to listen to aircraft the way you'd listen to a living thing, Don passed that same philosophy on to every technician under his leadership. His crew's success was his success.
Don approaches aircraft diagnostics the way a doctor approaches a patient, systematically, patiently, and with the discipline to let the aircraft reveal its own clues. Bleed air pressures, CAS messages, instrument indications: nothing gets ignored.
From Team Lead at Gulfstream to advising LeTourneau University's Applied Aviation Sciences Committee, Don has always carved out time to invest in the next generation of aviation professionals.
As a member and active ally of WAI, WCA, AWAM, and OBAP, Don is committed to broadening access and representation across all corners of the aviation industry.
As an independent specialist, Don's loyalty is to the aircraft and to the client, not to a facility or a quota. That independence means unbiased eyes and honest assessments, every time.
Don is proud to participate in and advocate for organizations that support excellence, diversity, and opportunity across the aviation industry.
Whether you need Gulfstream expertise or professional aerial documentation, Don is ready to support your mission.
